Online store — catalog, payment and delivery under control

Sell online without losing your evenings.

An online store doesn't need to be complicated to work: it needs a readable catalog, payment in Canadian dollars with the right taxes calculated, clear delivery or pickup, and an inventory you can track by hand. NEXUS AGENCE builds that base properly, explains it to your team, and leaves the store in your hands.

The catalog

Your products, presented so they get bought.

A catalog is judged by how fast a customer finds what they're looking for. We organize your items into useful categories, write product pages that answer the questions people ask on the phone, and keep the structure simple enough that you can add a product yourself.

Catalog structure

Categories built for your real customers, not for a warehouse. One entry per main product family, an internal search box, and filters only when they genuinely help someone choose.

  • Category pages with useful copy.
  • Search by product name.
  • Sorting by price or newest.

Complete product pages

Every product page carries the information that prevents one more email: dimensions, materials, weight, availability, lead time. Variants (size, colour, format) stay attached to the same product so you don't multiply pages.

  • Optimized photos with captions.
  • Clear price and tax display.
  • Variants and options grouped together.

Short purchase path

Add to cart, review, pay: three steps, not seven. Shipping fees and taxes appear before payment, never after, which keeps shoppers from abandoning a cart at the last second.

  • Cart visible at all times.
  • Fees shown before payment.
  • Automatic confirmation email.

Payment and taxes

Get paid in Canadian dollars, taxes handled.

Online sales in Quebec follow the same rules as sales in person. The store therefore calculates the applicable taxes, produces readable invoices, and leaves card data with a specialized provider—never in your files.

GST and QST calculated

Quebec applies 5% GST and 9.975% QST on most taxable goods, which is 14.975% before rounding. The store adds both at the right moment, shows the breakdown on the invoice and keeps a record for every order.

  • Pre-tax price shown, post-tax total.
  • Invoice with GST / QST breakdown.
  • Simple export for your bookkeeping.

Registration and small supplier

As a rule, registration for GST and QST becomes mandatory once taxable supplies exceed $30,000 in a single calendar quarter or over four consecutive quarters. Below that threshold, a small supplier can usually stay unregistered—but then the taxes are not collected.

  • Settings matched to your real status.
  • Tax numbers entered once.
  • Threshold re-checked every year.

No card data stored on your side

Payment runs through a certified provider (Stripe, Square, Moneris, PayPal: whichever you already use). Card numbers are entered in its secure fields: PCI DSS compliance rests with the provider, and your site never keeps that data. Its transaction fees are billed per use, by the provider.

  • Card fields hosted by the provider.
  • Refunds possible from its dashboard.
  • No card number in your database.

Delivery and inventory

Ship it, let them pick it up, keep the count right.

For a neighbourhood business, logistics should stay as simple as the counter. We pick the options that suit your products, then set up quantity tracking that takes a few minutes a day.

Tracked delivery

Fees calculated by weight, by region or as a flat rate decided in advance. The customer gets a tracking number and you get the list of parcels to prepare today. Service areas and announced lead times are written down plainly.

  • Flat rate, by region or by cart total.
  • Shipping email to the customer.
  • Daily packing list.

In-store pickup

The most profitable option for local customers: order online, collect on site, no shipping cost. Pickup hours, the address and the preparation delay appear at checkout and are repeated in the confirmation email.

  • Time slots or opening hours shown.
  • Free, with fees off by default.
  • “Ready for pickup” email sent.

Simple stock, no ERP

Every product carries a quantity. When it hits zero, the store blocks the sale and you get a notice: no more orders you can't honour. Restocking means changing a number, not sitting through a three-day training course.

  • Quantity per product and per variant.
  • Out-of-stock and low-stock alerts.
  • Product hidden automatically when sold out.

Compliance, security and training

A store that earns trust, not just sales.

As soon as a store collects a name, an address or an email, it handles personal information. NEXUS AGENCE sets up the technical and documentary basics that make your practice defensible, then trains the person who will run it day to day.

Law 25: the basics in place

Quebec's Law 25 requires, among other things, appointing a person responsible for the protection of personal information and publishing their contact details, posting an accessible privacy policy, obtaining valid consent, securing the data, keeping an incident register and destroying information no longer needed. We put these elements in place with you, linked to your privacy policy page.

  • Privacy policy written and linked.
  • Consent, with boxes left unchecked.
  • Incident register and complaint process.

Security: encryption and backups

The whole site runs over HTTPS, communications with the payment provider are encrypted, and the store content is backed up using the 3-2-1 rule with a real restore test. No unnecessary third-party dependency is loaded into the pages. The approach is detailed in SME cybersecurity and 3-2-1 backups.

  • HTTPS with automatic certificate renewal.
  • Backups verified by actual restore.
  • Named, limited administrator access.

Monitoring and training

Continuous monitoring watches the site's availability and flags access anomalies; see monitoring & alerts. Then we train whoever runs the store: adding a product, issuing a refund, reading an order, correcting stock, understanding a tax report. One guided session, plus a written cheat sheet that stays in the counter drawer.

  • Hands-on workshop using your real products.
  • Written cheat sheet handed over at the end.
  • Questions covered after launch.

Packages

Three official prices, announced up front.

The right package is the one that matches your product count and your real logistics, not the biggest one. The scope is written down plainly before we start, and there are no surprise lines after signature.

Frequently asked

What people ask us before opening a store.

How long before the first sale?

A starter store usually launches in 2 to 3 weeks once the catalog and shipping information are provided. A service store takes 4 to 6 weeks, because categories need structure, payment and taxes must be connected, and the person handling orders has to be trained.

Will I be able to add products myself?

Yes, that's the point. You get an administrator account in your own name and a training session on your real products: adding an item, changing a price, adjusting a quantity, removing a photo. No line of code to touch.

Who handles GST and QST?

The store calculates and displays them, and the invoice breaks both out. Registration with Revenu Québec, remitting the taxes and filing remain your company's responsibility, however. We configure the store according to your status—registered or small supplier—and document what was decided.

Is my store compliant with Law 25?

NEXUS AGENCE puts the required basics in place: a named responsible person, an accessible privacy policy, valid consent, security measures, an incident register and destruction of unneeded data. Legal compliance remains your company's responsibility: for formal validation, a lawyer or a privacy consultant is still the right person to consult.

Where do my customers' card numbers go?

Nowhere on your side. Payment is processed by a certified provider, in its own secure fields. Your site never sees the card number and your database stores none. PCI DSS compliance rests with the provider, not with your business.

What if an item sells out or needs a refund?

When the quantity hits zero, the store blocks the sale and sends you a notice: you never promise an item you don't have. Refunds are issued from the payment provider's dashboard, and the order is marked refunded in the store so the numbers stay consistent.
